The underlying idea of the contest is to draw one of the people behind a Disney film who has most inspired you.

Who is your chosen artist? I chose Michael Giacchino (pronounced "Jyah-kee-noh"), and if you recognize him you get a cookie.

When was he born? And when did he work for Disney? He was born 10th October 1967 in Riverside Township, New Jersey. He started composing for Pixar's films in 2004, and his relationship with the company continues to this day.

What did he do? He composed the music for the Pixar films: One Man Band, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Lifted, Up, Partly Cloudy, Day & Night, and Cars 2.

What do you find inspiring about this artist? His outstanding capacity for diversifying musical styles. He captures my mind with his imaginative orchestrations, and his fascinating perspective of music.

What can every aspiring artist learn from this remarkable person? He was interested in filmmaking and music from a very early age; through practice and perseverance he eventually became, in my opinion, no less than the best composer of our time.
